What is Wordfeud?

Wordfeud is one of the most popular asynchronous word games in the world, with millions of active players across iOS, Android, and web platforms. It was created by the same company behind the popular "Wordfeud" game and has become a go-to word game for players who enjoy the strategic depth of Scrabble but prefer playing at their own pace.

The game is played on a 15×15 grid — identical in size to Scrabble — with double and triple letter and word score squares in the same positions. Two to four players take turns forming words horizontally or vertically, with each tile having a Scrabble-style point value.

What sets Wordfeud apart is its social and asynchronous nature. You can play multiple games simultaneously against different opponents, and there's no time pressure — you can take as long as you want to consider your move.

How to Use the Wordfeud Solver

1

Enter your letters

Type all the tiles from your Wordfeud rack into the search box. Include every letter you have available for this turn.

2

Set length filters (optional)

If you need a word of a specific length to fit a space on the board, use the Min and Max length controls.

3

Find your best play

Results are sorted by score automatically. Look for words using Q, Z, X, and J on premium squares. Watch for 7-letter Bingos (50-point bonus).

4

Consider board position

A shorter word hitting a Triple Word square can score more than a longer word on neutral territory. Compare your options before playing.

Wordfeud Scoring System

Wordfeud uses the exact same tile values as Scrabble. Here's the complete reference:

Points Letters
1 A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T, R
2 D, G
3 B, C, M, P
4 F, H, V, W, Y
5 K
8 J, X
10 Q, Z

Bingo Bonus: Playing all 7 tiles in one word = 50 bonus points.

Premium Squares: DL and TL multiply individual tile values. DW and TW multiply the entire word score.

Blank Tiles: Two blank tiles per game, worth 0 points each. They can represent any letter.

Top Wordfeud Tips from Expert Players

1. Hunt for Bingos relentlessly: The 50-point Bingo bonus is the single biggest scoring opportunity in Wordfeud. Every time you get a full rack of 7 tiles, run it through our solver immediately and look for 7-letter words.

2. Master the high-value 2-letter words: Words like QI (11+ pts on a TW), XI (10+ pts), ZA (11+ pts), JO (9+ pts), XU (10+ pts), and KI (7+ pts) let you play a single tile on a premium square.

3. Save high-value tiles for premium squares: Q (10 pts), Z (10 pts), X (8 pts), and J (8 pts) should almost never be played on neutral board spaces.

4. Play parallel words to score twice: When you place a word perpendicular to an existing word on the board, every intersecting tile creates a new word in the perpendicular direction.

5. Know when to play defensively: Sometimes the best play isn't the highest-scoring word — it's the one that prevents your opponent from scoring 80+ on their next turn.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Wordfeud and how does it work? +

Wordfeud is a popular multiplayer word game available on iOS, Android, and web. Think of it as Scrabble reimagined for the mobile era — two to four players take turns forming words on a 15×15 grid, with the same premium squares (double/triple letter and word) that Scrabble players know well. Games are played asynchronously, so you can play at your own pace against friends or random opponents.

How does Wordfeud scoring work? +

Wordfeud scoring is almost identical to Scrabble: each letter has a point value (A/E/I/O/U/L/N/S/T/R = 1, D/G = 2, B/C/M/P = 3, F/H/V/W/Y = 4, K = 5, J/X = 8, Q/Z = 10), and premium squares multiply tile values. Using all 7 tiles in one play earns a 50-point Bingo bonus.

What are the best Wordfeud starting words? +

Strong Wordfeud opening words maximize vowel-consonant balance. ADIEU (contains 4 of the 5 vowels) is a perennial favorite. AUDIO, RAISE, STARE, SOVRAN, and AEROSTAT are all excellent openers.

How do I get the 50-point Bingo bonus in Wordfeud? +

Playing all 7 tiles in a single turn earns a 50-point Bingo bonus. To find Bingo candidates, run your full 7-tile rack through our solver and look for any 7-letter word. Words like SENORITA, ANTELOPE, INHALERS, MOLASSES, and LATRINES are common Bingos.

Can I use a blank tile in the Wordfeud solver? +

Yes. Enter a blank tile as a question mark (?) in the search box. The solver will treat it as a wildcard — finding words where that blank letter would go.

What's the difference between Wordfeud and Wordfeud 2? +

Wordfeud 2 (also called "Wordfeud Live") added several features including faster gameplay, a chat function, and some updated dictionary additions. The core game mechanics remained essentially the same. Our solver works for both versions.

How do I play defensively in Wordfeud? +

Defensive play means limiting your opponent's options: (1) Blocking Triple Word squares with short words (2-3 letters); (2) Avoiding parallel setups near your opponent's high-value tiles; (3) Forcing tile exchanges by playing short words that offer no productive extension.
